Action on Hearing Loss have scheduled another hearing screening drop-in at Sandown Health Centre on Friday 26th January, from 10:00 until 12 noon.
The hearing screenings aim to give locals an opportunity to drop in and have their hearing checked by trained volunteers. You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire to highlight any specific concerns you may have about your hearing, and/or difficulties you have or are experiencing, before having your hearing checked with a Siemens HearCheck screener.
This will only take up 5 to 10 minutes of your time. This service is available exclusively on the Isle of Wight for over 18s.
Hannah Crookes, Action on Hearing Loss’ Project Manager for the pilot scheme, said:
“This is the third screening session to be held at Sandown Health Centre, and we hope to continue to offer this service on a monthly basis until August.
“Hearing loss can have significant impacts on communication, education, work and relationships, so it is important to address any concerns early to try and prevent any negative impacts on quality of life. If you have any concerns about your hearing, or you think a family member or friend may benefit from having their hearing checked, I would strongly recommend that you pop along on 26th January and take advantage of this free service”.
