An Isle of Wight man who brandished a pair of knives above his head and shouted ‘I’ve had enough with everyone’ is to be sentenced in May. Bradley Tolfrey, 23, of Newport Street in Ryde, pleaded guilty to affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and 2x criminal damage when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last week (26th March). Prosecuting, Liz Miller, told the court that on 18th November 2023, an incident occurred at Sandham House in Sandown. During the incident, Tolfrey, who had become frustrated with the commotion occurring outside his door, emerged with 2 kitchen knives above his head stating ‘I’ve had enough with everyone’. Tolfrey’s sudden appearance caused a worker inside the premises to rush downstairs and retreat into the office. CCTV footage showed marks – consistent with stab marks – on both the corridor and the wall of Tolfrey’s room. Defending, Oscar Vincent said that his client was an extremely vulnerable individual who suffers from numerous health conditions including anxiety and depression. Magistrates adjourned the case until 17th May for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

Thank you for sharing this a week early
Not like he came out into public street and threatened public. Often fights and disturbing behaviour within Sandham House, people are placed there because of their issues ,yes needs consequences but prison will only make behaviour worse and nowhere to go on release.
What about the staff or other vulnerable people in the building?, But you Freddie will hide behind your keyboard, stating it happens often, I have no doubt if you where faced with this you would wet your pants.
What a ridiculous comment, what about the other people, staff etc, very frightening scenario
Bang him up, make the Island a safe place for everyone.
If carrying a knife in a public place on the Isle of Wight is just a slap on the wrist surely having a knife in your own house will result in nothing
This is all about Tolfrey having control of everything within his field of vision or hearing. He somehow thinks he has the right to use violence to control the situation to his ends. Clearly others rights don’t matter to him and it is clearly not obvious to him, that outside the door to his room, is not under his control.
This guy needs banging up in a very noisy prison, to teach him a lesson about how he has no control or right to control anything other than his own actions.
Honestly shame asylum was ever closed down. This care for odd people is extremely costly and starts with the SEN schools onwards.
If the asylum at whitecroft had been reopened it could have had a SEN school there too. Idea central location and many mental health doctors there to access it normal society would be safer with those dangerous and odd permanently locked up.
Would be cheaper than hundreds of HMOs and separate mental health services attending each individually
A permanent drain on normal people and a threat to their safety.
Suffers from anxiety. Causes others anxiety with a knife in his hand. Ridiculous loser. Bang him up until he reconsiders his bullying behaivour. If that’s 10 years, who cares. The manboy is a menace.
