Greenmount Primary School in Ryde has confirmed that a single case of COVID-19 has been identified within the school community.
All pupils in Year R are now being told to stay at home until 26th November.
It’s unclear how many teachers or support staff are affected by this news.
Today’s test confirmation from Public Health England, whom the school are working closely with, is the latest to affect schools on the Isle of Wight.
A number of other primary and secondary schools have declared at least 1 positive case in the past 2 weeks. Cowes Enterprise College has seen 2 cases.
The other year groups at Greenmount Primary remain open as normal and children should continue to attend school as long as they are feeling well.

How many schools is that now, I have lost count, this was obviously going to happen here, what with the bus travel and also the outbreak in Ventnor, which now stands at 7 people that I know of for sure. This isn’t enough of a lockdown, barely anyone is sticking to the rules this time around.

Yes send them home then Mummy can take them out shopping or leave them to go out to play and spread the virus. School need closing and parents fined with heavy fine if there kids are not self isolating.
