George and Ivy were the most popular names for boys and girls on the Isle of Wight last year, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Of the 553 boys born to Isle of Wight mothers last year, 12 were named George. Nationally, the most popular boy’s name for 2021 was Noah, followed by Oliver. George was the 3rd most common name nationwide.
475 girls were born from Island mothers, of which 8 were called Ivy: the 5th most common name in England and Wales. Nationally, the most popular name was Olivia, followed by Amelia, Isla and Ava.
