An Isle of Wight man has been successful in the challenge he set himself to play 100 holes of golf in just one day.
On Saturday 26th June, Iron Man Steve Orchard (as he is known at Freshwater Bay Golf Club), played 100 holes of golf in one day, amounting to 5 rounds & 10 holes.
His Challenge was to raise funds for the Captain’s Charity which is the ’Special Olympics’ Isle of Wight.
Steve was supported by members of the club who played with him, starting in the moonlight at 04:00 and finishing at 19:00 in bright sunshine.
A welcoming party formed a gallery surrounding the 18th green, comprising of Club Captains & Members of FBGC, Special Olympic team members & organisers, friends, and family.
Steve has so far raised in excess of £2000 for a very deserved cause.
