Action on Hearing Loss is holding 5 more free adult hearing screening services exclusively on the Isle of Wight.
The screening service, which will be running across the island for a year, gives local residents an opportunity to have their hearing checked by trained volunteers for signs of hearing loss.
5 services are being held before the end of the year in 3 surgeries across the Isle of Wight’s 3 localities.
Drop in services will be held at:
• Sandown Health Centre, Broadway
– Wednesday 4th October, 10:00-15:00
– Wednesday 18th October, 10:00-15:00
• West Wight Medical Practice, Brookside Health Centre
– Thursday 5th October, 13:00-16:00
As well as these drop-in services, residents in the Ryde area can book an appointment to have their hearing screened at:
• Argyll House Surgery, West Street (01983 562955)
– Wednesday 25th October, 14:00-16:00
– Wednesday 29th October, 14:00-16:00
Hannah Crookes, Action on Hearing Loss’ Project Manager for the pilot scheme, said:
“Following a successful launch in Argyll House in August, we’re looking forward to this service reaching more residents across the island.
“This service is open to all adults to drop in or book appointments at these screening events, you need not be a registered patient at the surgeries. Our trained volunteers will show patients how simple it is to have an initial hearing check, and any patients who show that they might be having issues with their hearing will be advised to see a nurse or GP.”
