A pilot scheme being operated by the UK’s largest hearing loss charity, Action on Hearing Loss, has scheduled 2 more hearing screening drop-ins on the Isle of Wight this week.
The hearing screenings aim to give locals an opportunity to drop in and have their hearing checked by trained volunteers. You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire to highlight any specific concerns you may have about your hearing, and/or difficulties you have or are experiencing, before having an initial assessment with a Siemens HearCheck screener.
This service is available exclusively on the Isle of Wight for over 18s and will only take up 5 to 10 minutes of your time.
This week’s walk-in screenings will be taking place on:
- Wednesday 21st February – 14:00-16:00 at Argyll House Surgery, Ryde
- Friday 23rd February – 10:00-12:00noon at Sandown Health Centre
Please note for the screening at Argyll House Surgery, you are advised to book an appointment by calling the Practice on 01983 562955, however you will be seen if you do just turn-up.
Hannah Crookes, Action on Hearing Loss’ Project Manager for the pilot scheme, said:
“We are pleased to now be running frequent hearing screening sessions at Argyll House Surgery and Sandown Health Centre, to provide more opportunities for the public to get their hearing checked at no cost. You also don’t need to be registered at the Practice to attend! If you have any concerns about your hearing, or you think a family member or friend may benefit from having their hearing checked, I would strongly recommend that you pop along to one of these free screening events. ”
