A former 40-bed hotel in Sandown has been put on the open market for £450,000, with emphasis on the development potential of the site.
Parkbury Hotel off The Broadway is owned by the now-collapsed Carlauren Group, but Joint Administrators of Carlauren Resort 21 Limited have put the property up for sale with an asking price of offers in the region of £450,000 for an unconditional purchase of the freehold site.
The hotel, on the corner of Winchester Park Road, was trading up until March 2019 – a year before the coronavirus pandemic hit – but shut its doors when things went belly up with Carlauren.
The 0.74 acre site is said to be in a ‘prominent holiday resort location’ and could be redeveloped for continued use as a hotel, as a care home or for residential break up.
Earlier this month it was confirmed that 2 other Carluaren properties – the Ocean Hotel in Sandown and The Auckland Hotel in Shanklin – have both been sold.

Thought this hotel was part of the shearings coaching and hotels group that went bust during lockdown last year – nothing to do with carlauren group
