A new TV show could be set on the Isle of Wight after former soap star Tamzin Outhwaite shared pictures of her enjoying the sun on the beach in Cowes.
Famous for her role as Mel Owen in Eastenders, Outhwaite’s explosive storylines graced the streets of Walford from 1998 – 2002. She also played DCI Sasha Miller in the hit detective show New Tricks between 2013-15.
Over on the Isle of Wight doing as she called it a ‘recce for a TV show idea’ the 51-year-old took in sights along the northern coast of the Island visiting the beaches in Cowes, Gurnard and Thorness Bay.
On pictures posted on her Instagram with director and fellow actor Tom Child, she said:
“Yesterday we went on a recce for a TV show idea, whatever happens with it, I have come to the conclusion that I would like to spend more time here. Isle of Wight you were truly stunning.
“It started as work, but blossomed into play. What a stunning place.
“Air BNB cabin in Cowes, which was clean, quirky and in a perfect location to explore.
“I was blown away by the natural charm of the place.

yeah, lovely island, being destroyed by all the airbnb’s you also mention. Thanks Tamzin.
I wouldn’t kick her out of my bed, plus I’d make her breakfast 😉
Hey IE, wher’s my comment ?
I was only kidding about my dungeon.
I am a big fan of hers, even got a scrap book.
If Ms Outhwaite were to reside on the island, I very much doubt that she would be “blown away my the natural charm” of the ferry companies, Newport and the appalling low standards of driving.
