UPDATED: The Met Office have issued a severe weather warning for fog across the Isle of Wight from 22:00 tonight (Saturday).
A slack, moist airmass is expected to lie across much of the England and Wales overnight, with fog forming readily.
Islanders are warned about the potential for visibility to be reduced to less than 100m at times, especially on high ground such as The Downs.
Disruption to cross-Solent travel is possible.
Fog will slowly clear through tomorrow morning with the weather warning due to be lifted by 11:00.
UPDATE SUNDAY @ 12:30 – The Met Office have extended their weather warning for fog to include Monday morning.
The weather warning has been extended to include between 21:00 tonight and 12:00 Monday lunchtime.
Disruption to cross-Solent travel is possible, especially on Red Jet and Hovertravel services.
