The Cowes Floating Bridge will be out of action for planned maintenance on Monday evening, it has been announced.
Between 18:00 and 23:00 on Monday 12th July, the troubled service will be suspended to enable engineers to carry out the planned work, although the Isle of Wight Council has not disclosed what exactly is being done.
The now-usual replacement launch for foot passengers and cyclists will be in operation during this time.
The Isle of Wight Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

When is it ever in action….get rid of it and put in a bridge like Yarmouth
I thought you only have maintenance done when something has being working for some time.
this should be the case of a service after so many hours or miles, but the only mileage the floating bridge seems to be doing is back and fore to the repair shop!! lol
“planned maintenance”. Yeah right.
Wouldn’t it be easier to announce when it’s working.. ready steady go.. it’s running for the next hour and you’ll get 3 crossings.
