The troubled Cowes Floating Bridge will be suspended yet again this evening (Wednesday).
It’s understood the chain ferry will be pulled from service between 19:00 and 22:00 to allow engineers to replace a guide wheel. The timings are approximate.
The suspension of service is the latest issue to hit Floating Bridge No.6 – the magnitude of problems simply too lengthy to now list.
A foot passenger launch will be in place for foot passengers.
UPDATE @ 21:20 – The floating bridge service has now resumed.

If the can wait till 7pm, why can’t they wait till end of service tonight to change this part? It seems like they’ve given up on trying to provide a service too.
Put all the head honcho’s from county hall on it and tow it out into the middle of the Solent and leave it there please.
Why not bring back the old ferry it was more reliable than this heap of junk

The way this council leachers money from us we soon wont have the cash to use this hunk of iron so makes know difference.

I wish the “council” would stop publishing the “The Isle of Wight Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.” cr*p as we all know they don’t give a toss about the Islanders or any inconvenience cause by their incompetence, it is just an extra key on their keyboards alongside the “lessons will be learned” one, remember this when you vote today and get rid of the two village idiots namely stewart and ward.
