A rescue tender, an aerial ladder platform and one fire appliance from Newport Fire Station have attended a building site in Cowes this afternoon (Friday) to perform a rescue from scaffolding.
Crews were called to the scene at the Cloud Living development on Arctic Road alongside Police and paramedics at around 12:40.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s aerial ladder platform (ALP) was used to elevate paramedics onto the scaffolding surrounding a new build property, where it is understood a workman in his 50s suffered a head injury.
Emergency services have now left the scene having successfully and safely rescued the man, who has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
