UPDATED: Firefighters from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have tackled a fire at an NHS supply depot in Newport this morning (Monday).
Two appliances and an officer from Newport Fire Station were called to Barry Way shortly before 08:25 following reports from NHS staff of a fire on the first floor of the warehouse building.
Crews have used breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters have now left the scene. No one has been injured.
UPDATE @ 10:40 – The Isle of Wight NHS Trust say they are ‘very grateful’ for the quick actions of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
The Trust say some commercial ambulance training courses maybe affected by this morning’s fire and those affected will be contacted.
The Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) next door is operating as usual.
