UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at Totland Seafront this afternoon (Sunday), where a person has become trapped in amongst rocks.
2 fire appliances from Freshwater and Newport and the rescue tender from Newport are on scene in the West Wight. They were alerted to the sticky situation at around 15:15.
UPDATE @ 16:30 – The incident has been brought to a swift and positive conclusion, thanks to the efforts of fire crews.
A 22-year-old man from the local area has been lifted to safety. He has escaped injury.
It is thought the young male became trapped in between a wall and the rocks as he attempted to retrieve personal possessions
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now left the scene.
