Firefighters were called to deal with a broken down van on Whippingham Road near East Cowes earlier this evening (Thursday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident shortly before 17:40 following reports from the van driver of fuel leaking across the road and smoke issuing from the vehicle due to a turbo malfunction.
One appliance from East Cowes Fire Station attended the incident and made the scene safe.
The scene has now been cleared and traffic is flowing freely.
