Time is running out for applications to be considered for this year’s Community Action Awards.

The team at Community Action want you to help celebrate some of the fantastic work that is being done by people in the community and voluntary sector on the Isle of Wight.

On Maundy Thursday, HM The Queen traditionally gave out Maundy Money to elderly men and women who have served their community. Across the years several Islanders have received Maundy Money and with this in mind the Community Action Awards are also a celebration of those serving their community.

Amanda from Community Action said:

“We rely on YOU to apply and nominate those around you who are making a difference. There is a category for local communities, children and young people, older people, environment, village halls and community buildings, sport and arts and heritage”.

These awards are given to reward an organisation’s current efforts and are judged on the positive impact they are having on people’s lives; originality; input of volunteers and good partnership working.

If you know of anyone locally who is doing any of these things, take some time to complete the simple application form available from Amanda and return to [email protected], or see the Community Action Isle of Wight website.

Closing date for entries is 16:00 on Friday 26th April 2019.
