Police responded to the Oakfield area of Ryde earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) following reports of an extremely young child being shouted at by a man.
Officers responded to the scene in the vicinity of Harding Road at just before 12:30 following concerning reports from members of the public.
Police say they attended the location and conducted an extensive area search – including house-to-house enquiries – but have been unable to locate a man matching the description given.
Witnesses say the girl was aged around 2 or 3 with blonde, wavey hair. Concerns for her safety were raised due to the language being used by the male.
No crimes have been identified at this stage, according to Hampshire Constabulary.

I witnessed a similar thing in Newport years ago and wished i had intervened . It was also before Mobile phones were around. Hope the little girl is not in any danger
