Musicals will return to Shanklin Theatre next week for the first time since late 2019, as Curtain Call Creative present their production of Fame The Musical.

The show, staged by a fantastic cast of 6 to 18-year-olds, follows the final class of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama, and dance.

Fame is an international sensation that continues to reach new generations of performers and audience members. Featuring alLive band, superb modern set design and an extremely talented cast of Island-based performers.

Andrew Woodford, Show Director, says:

“It is fantastic to be back in the theatre after such a hiatus and we are so excited to be producing our first face to face full scale musical with all the production values expected. To be able to give this opportunity to the students of the Island is a fantastic feeling.

“We hope as many people as possible will come and support them and enjoy a great night out at the theatre again. We are so fortunate to have the support of Shanklin Theatre and can’t wait to see you all there”.

Performances are being held on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th August at 19:00. Tickets are available at https://www.shanklintheatre.com/events/curtain_call_creative_present_fame_the_musical/details.aspx.
