The faces of 12 of the Isle of Wight’s most wanted criminals are being published here on Island Echo as the charity Crimestoppers launches its first-ever Most Wanted campaign covering the Island.
The people included below are wanted for a variety of offences including assault, harassment and burglary. 2 of the 12 faces committed crimes right here on the Island; Samuel Woodford is wanted for violent disorder in Newport and Matthew Shipman is wanted for a burglary in Freshwater. Although the other crimes took place in Hampshire, the wanted individuals could be living on the Island.
Earlier today (Wednesday), Crimespotters had a big screen on display at St James’ Square, St Thomas’ Square and Morrisons car park in Newport, highlighting the faces of wanted individuals to Christmas shoppers.
Emily van der Lely, Regional Manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said:
“This is the first time we have facilitated Most Wanted on the Isle of Wight and I look forward to increasing awareness of our charity and publicising wanted individuals.
“Our independent charity empowers communities to speak up and stop crime. While Hampshire and Isle of Wright is a comparatively safe county, there are people at large who are wanted by law enforcement”.

The police can find time and resources to knock on doors over twitter comments and they can find time to pester someone over a face covering, however, they seem to struggle finding these clowns.
simple – all of them, bar none, need to eat and drink – with exception of those that have absconded from prison, the rest will obviously be claiming state benefits.
follow the money – get the DWP to advise on what account the money is paid into – then find out where the withdrawals are being made and when – then, either watch that cashpoint, or watch the stores that they are seen to be using to buy food, from their debit card transaction history
That’s right……. Name and shame these low life. The photo’s of them is a bonus. No place in society for persons who think they can take from others or assault others. Drugs play a massive part in certain crimes. Get clean, stay off the filthy stuff, get a job and start giving and putting back into society, rather than just keep taking from it!!!
