An experienced teacher and craftsman is offering Islanders the opportunity to take part in new and unique workshops, starting this May, which will give participants a hands on experience in the restoration and creation of upcycled furniture.
Tanya Baxter, who has over 30 years’ experience in the field, will be sharing her knowledge in everything from chalk painting and simple upholstery to applying wax finish, providing any aspiring crafters with the skills they need to begin their own furniture projects at home.
Tanya, said:
“There seems to be a real trend in the desire for upcycled furniture at the moment and I wanted to give the community an opportunity to really have fun with it, without the boring prep and planning that can often come with it!
“The workshop is to demonstrate just how rewarding and relaxing creating something can be and the pride and achievement associated with taking a finished project home.
“It’s an Island-first with plenty to take out of the session, so I just hope the community is as excited as I am!”
Tanya’s first workshop will take place on Saturday 25th May 2019, 10:00 to 15:00 and places will be subject to availability. Each session costs £65 in total which will cover all expenses including a chair (to take home), all materials, unlimited tea and coffee and a baguette lunch.
Upcycling furniture is not the only way to enhance your home. An ultimate shower experience with aromatherapy by using essential oil diffusers or scented shower gels can awaken your senses, with plenty of other shower baths ideas to explore too.
