The motor car once rivaled the horse and cart, but the drive of being eco-friendly has brought about a collaboration between The Island Riding Centre and the Isle of Wight’s first 100% electric taxi service, e-Taxi.
The Island Riding Centre equestrian and holiday complex on the outskirt of Newport boasts 2 electric car charging points, 78 solar panels that provide approximately 20,000 kWh of energy per year and 2 rainwater harvesting systems, which save 200,000 litres of water.
Keen to promote their eco principles further, the riding centre has teamed up with fellow Newport-based business, e-Taxi. The 100% electric taxi company, powered by renewable energy, is now the preferred transport provider for Island Riding Centre.
Environmental values are key to both businesses and together they aim to provide Island residents and tourists an eco-friendly experience like no other.
