A 30-year-old Newport woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash which saw her car end up on its side in Newport yesterday evening (Thursday).
As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called just before 21:00 yesterday by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to a report of a collision on Barton Road, Newport.
At the scene, a Peugeot 207 collided with 2 parked cars; an Audi A4 and a Nissan Qashqai with the French hatchback coming to rest on its side. Barton Road was blocked for a time before.
Officers at the scene arrested a 30-year-old woman from Newport on suspicion of drink driving and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
She remains in custody at this time.
UPDATE @ 14:52 – 30-year-old Ashleigh Marie Taylor, of Furrlongs, has been charged with drink driving and possession of a Class B drug – cannabis.
She will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 26th November.
