2 separate crashes on the main road out of Newport are causing traffic chaos this rush hour (Friday), as Islanders head home for the weekend.
At Fairlee Road, near Seaclose Park, at least 1 motorcycle has been involved in a collision.
Further along the A3054 at Racecourse, a pick up truck has been involved in a rear-end collision with a car.
Both collisions are thought to be minor in nature but the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is in attendance at both incidents.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area with significant queues. However, the continued closure of Park Road, Wootton does not allow for a swift diversion.
UPDATE @ 18:15 – Both incidents have now been cleared, with traffic free flowing once again.
A young child has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the rear-end crash on Racecourse.
It’s thought the motorcyclist involved in the crash at Seaclose has also been taken to hospital.
Doesn’t surprise me on this LAWLESS
Island
I was driving along the Military Road
this afternoon.
I saw an IDIOT on a motorbike must have
been doing 80mph+
I also saw many cars overtaking law
abiding vehicles, they must have been doing
70mph+
UNTIL THERE ARE “STRICT” SPEEDING RULES
ACCIDENTS AND CRASHES WILL KEEP
HAPPENING!
Time for speed Camera’s and speed humps.
There are Strict rules and a lot do NOT abide by them, and when and IF caught they make NO difference.
Get CAUGHT get a BAN and they STILL drive!
Stricter rules, crush the motorists vehicle
that will make people think about
breaking the law.
Your starting to get it.
