The drivers of 2 Audis have escaped injury in a road traffic collision on a busy junction in Cowes this afternoon (Sunday).
A Black Audi S3 and a white Audi A1 have come together at the junction of Three Gates Road and Place Road.
Police are on scene directing traffic and conducting initial enquiries into the cause of the smash.
Both drivers have been breathalysed and appear to have passed the roadside test.
The incident occurred at around 15:30.
Recovery of both the vehicles, which have sustained front end damage, has been arranged.
Such an incident would cause traffic chaos from tomorrow due to the one-way closure – and subsequent diversion – on Horsebridge Hill, which comes into effect for 2 months from Monday morning.
UPDATE ON MONDAY – Police have confirmed that a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired. He was since been released under investigation.
Doesn’t surprise me the way Audi drivers drive,
other makes of vehicles have brakes.
