In celebration of Ryde Town Council’s 10th anniversary, young people aged 11 and under are being invited to design a flag for Ryde.
Ryde Town Council was established in May 2008 and today continues to deliver a variety of services, such as the public toilets, the skatepark and allotment sites, and makes substantial contributions to services and maintenance in Ryde.
The winning design in this competition will be flown high above Eastern Gardens and the winning designer, plus 2 runners up, will receive a prize and be invited to attend an afternoon tea with the Mayor of Ryde.
All artistic abilities are welcome and entries can be designed electronically or by hand. Templates can be collected from the Ryde Town Council Office or from Ryde Library, or downloaded from the website here.
The competition closes on 25th June 2018. All paper entries should be sent to Ryde Town Council, Council Chambers, 10 Lind Street, Ryde, PO33 2NQ. Electronic entries can be emailed to [email protected] with the child’s name, age and school they attend.
Note: the design will be used as a base for the flag and may not look identical. The design must incorporate the Ryde Town Council crest. Only one entry per child.
On a separate note, Ryde Town Council will be holding an open day on 6th July from 12:00-17:00 in which some Councillors will be attending to answer any queries or questions you may have. All members of the public are welcome to attend to raise any queries, thoughts or suggestions they may have.
