A man from Shanklin has denied sexually assaulting an individual at a bus stop in Sandown last year. Anthony Ayres, of Atherley Road, denied sexual assault when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday). It is alleged that the 56-year-old approached someone as he got off a Southern Vectis bus in Sandown on 10th August 2023 and attempted to grab their genitals. Anthony Ayres has elected to have a trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court, with the 56-year-old next due to appear on 7th May.
