A pensioner from Chale who allegedly threatened a man with an air rifle has seen his case sent to the Crown Court. Frederick Colson, 78, of Chale Green, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and assault by beating. Because the imitation firearm offence was indictable only, no plea was entered and the case was sent straight to the Isle of Wight Crown Court. The offences are alleged to have occurred in Chale on 21st November 2023. The case will be next heard on 28th May.

Best get my 12yr old arrested, not only did he threaten me but actually shot me with his Nerf gun several times before getting his water pistol and drenched me. Why did a 78yr old need to threaten another?, did he feel threatened himself?. Waste of public money and Court time. System needs to focus on upcoming criminals who are likely to ruin hundreds of lives and cost tax payers hundreds of thousands over time, possibly millions pounds.

You can’t usually do a lot of damage with an air rifle, unless you use it as a club. But I’d love to be able to look into the future when King Kev is 78 and how he refers to pensioners then. Or perhaps we won’t. He’d have taken his own advice and locked himself up by then… 😉
