Lady Sally Grylls was joined by Isle of Wight’s new High Sheriff, Gioia Minghella-Giddens, at a special Dementia UK fundraising event in Ryde last Saturday (12th May).

Cream teas and raffle prizes were aplenty at Busy Bee Garden Centre where Islanders came together to raise for the Isle Of Wight Admiral Nurses Appeal, working with Dementia UK.

A number of raffle prizes were generously donated thanks to Mary and Chris Leslie of Busy Bee, Co-Op and Tesco. There was also an original painting by Tim Bristow and a signed copy of Born Survivor by Bear Grylls.

A total of £500 was raised in just 2 hours on Saturday afternoon.

It’s hoped that another event can be held at Busy Bee’s The Olive Tree restaurant in the near future, with the kind support of owner Mary Leslie.
