UPDATED: A collision involving a lorry and a car is causing significant delays in Northwood this morning (Thursday).
Emergency services are currently in attendance at the incident on Nodes Road, which has become partially blocked. The incident occurred at just before 11:15.
It is thought a separate collision has taken place further along the road involving another car and a 4×4, adding to the traffic chaos.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured at this stage.
Traffic is reported to be extremely heavy in all directions as a result of the incidents and the closure of Newport Road for water works. Southern Vectis Route 1 buses are facing delays and cancellations.
Motorists are advised to divert via Forest Road and Whitehouse Road.
UPDATE @ 14:00 – The incident has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
