The Isle of Wight’s former pop star, Craig Douglas, is making his first national television appearance for over 30 years.
Craig, who was born in Newport, had a dozen of hit records during the 50s and 60s and went on to become an all-round entertainer. He gave up performing 10 years ago due to ill health.
He came out of retirement to make his last stage appearance at the Renown Pictures Film Festival at St Albans in March of this year. All 3 of his movies are regularly shown on Renown’s Talking Pictures TV channel. That live on-stage interview in front of a 1,000 people was recorded and is being shown for the first time on national television on Thursday (5th September) at 10:25.
This can be seen on Freeview channel 81, 328 on Sky and Virgin on 445.
Craig is being interviewed in the programme by another Islander, John Hannam, who had his own chat show on IW Radio for 28 years.
