4 students from Cowes Enterprise College have earned places on an exciting Oxbridge scholars programme which will help maximise their chances of gaining entry into the prestigious universities.
Students Emira Lutolli, Madeline Rick, Rusen Ugursal, and Rosie Vince at Cowes Enterprise College, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), have been awarded a place on OAT’s Oxbridge scholars programme.
The prestigious programme is in partnership with Oxbridge Applications to give students the opportunity to receive bespoke mentoring, training, and support throughout their application to two of the world’s top universities. Aspiring students and their parents will receive advice from the experts on how best to maximise their chances of gaining a place at the selective and prestigious Oxbridge colleges.
1st, students will receive a tailored personal statement presentation from the Oxbridge Applications team, which outlines the application process and provides a comprehensive and detailed exercise on writing the best possible personal statement. Alongside that, students will partake in an interactive Admissions Test Day which teaches them the skills to succeed in the rigorous admissions process through mock papers and group workshops with Oxbridge-graduate tutors.
The demanding Oxbridge preparation will also include an Interview Preparation Day which is designed to help the students gain confidence in their interview skills and develop their subject-specific knowledge. This full day intensive course involves subject knowledge tutorials, a talk from a former Oxbridge admissions tutor, two mock interviews and valuable feedback to take forward. Learning from the experts means that each student can continue their application feeling confident and assured of their abilities and knowledge in what will undoubtedly be a testing process.
Students will also be invited to attend an open day at the iconic Oxford or Cambridge colleges to experience academic life, talk to Oxbridge students, and explore the amazing facilities and resources available at these world-class institutions.
Emira, Madeline, Rusen and Rosie earned the positions following their excellent GCSE results and a rigorous application process, which involved demonstrating strong evidence of their subject knowledge, passion for learning, and motivation for high academic achievement.
OAT prioritises ensuring a range of extra-curricular opportunities for students, which allows them to develop themselves beyond the classroom and motivates them to enjoy learning. All students have access to enriching opportunities such as work experience, cultural and sporting visits, and academic support to encourage them to stretch themselves academically and always aim high.
Rachel Kitley, Principal at Cowes Enterprise College said:
“Emira, Madeline, Rusen and Rosie are excellent students, and they truly deserve their hard-earned place on the OAT Oxbridge Scholars Programme. They have an incredibly bright future ahead of them and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve.
“At Cowes Enterprise College, we always prioritise supporting our students in as many ways possible, encouraging them to develop personally and academically. OAT’s partnership with Oxbridge Applications is a great example of this, and it is such a wonderful opportunity for our students.”
Nick Hudson, CEO at Ormiston Academies Trust said:
“We are very proud of all the students who have been selected to participate in the OAT Oxbridge Scholars Programme. At OAT, we are always working to challenge our students, inspire academic achievement, and foster personal development.
