Nikita Hallahan and Danny Wells will be cycling around the Isle of Wight in aid of Prostate Cancer UK today (Saturday), the same weekend as the London Marathon where the couple got engaged a year ago.
The fundraising duo – who are due to set off from Yarmouth Lifeboat Station at around 09:30 – are cycling in aid of Prostate Cancer UK following Nikita’s father’s diagnosis back in March 2016.
Wanting to give something back to the charity following the invaluable support given, both Nikita and Danny will be cycling 66 miles around the Island’s coast with the aim of raising as much money as possible. £908 of the £1000 target has already been raised through JustGiving.
Nikita has said:
“When my dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in March 2016 our world came tumbling down. Just the word ‘cancer’ is scary enough to hear, let along the endless questions that come with it.
“It is fair to say that the help from then on, from Prostate Cancer UK was invaluable.
“We would love to raise as much money as possible so other families can get their questions answered, the priceless books of information sent to them and the support at the end of the phone when needed. So this is our way of saying thank you”.
