VIDEO: COUNCILLORS BATTLE IT OUT TO BECOME THE ‘GREATEST TOSSER’

Councillors took on a flipping good challenge in a bid to become the ‘greatest tosser’ in Ryde this morning (Tuesday) – whilst also raising awareness of 2 serious causes.

In what has now become an annual tradition, Councillor Michael Lilley and Councillor Wayne Whittle each took it in turns to pick up a pan and see how many times they could flip a pancake – albeit a wooden one.

Reigning champion Wayne Whittle once again took victory over a 5 minute period by flipping his pancake 393 times, verses Michael Lilley’s 282 times.

Fellow councillors Cllr Debbie Andrew and Cllr Vanessa Churchman also tried their hand at flipping the pancakes and put in a cracking effort, achieving 234 and 126 respectively.

The event was held to raise awareness and funds for the Isle of Wight Foodbank and the Red Box Project, the latter of which provides sanitary products in schools across the Island. So far a fantastic £850 has been raised with a target of £2,000.
