DJ Ian ‘Knocka’ Dore will step up to the decks as part of Woodland Sessions at Robin Hill on Saturday 17th July.
Ian curated behemoth club nights in the 90s such as Dynamite and later Casualty, also playing for big hitters like Miss Moneypenny’s, Slinky, Progress and Godskitchen.
Fast forward to 2021 and Ian now teaches radio and podcasting and is also now the Ward Councillor for Binstead and Fishbourne.
Ian left the club circuit some years ago but keeps his hand in with gigs such as this. He’ll be providing the cool cuts on the warm-up ahead of the main event and then spinning again, at the after-show party.
Ian says:
“The Island back in the day had an awesome clubbing vibe that created friendships and memories that have lasted decades. Then Bestival erupted onto the scene and a whole new generation got a whiff of what it was all about. I was privileged to DJ at nine of these and there is something very special about the location.
“Rob generously let me spin the wheels of steel in various arenas including the Main stage, the Big Top, Hidden Disco, Bollywood, the Comedy Tent and the The Sugar Skulls Stage. So to step once again into the deep dark woods, is something I’m really looking forward to.
“It’s gonna be a blast and as we navigate through what I’m sure we all hope is the rear end of this pandemic, a socially distanced stonker couldn’t have come at a better time.”
The Woodland Sessions PARTY with Rhythm Of The 90’s is being held on Saturday 17th July at Robin Hill. Visitors can expect 4 hours of classic dance, including DJ Omar Lakhssassi.
