UPDATED: Police and paramedics are responding to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in West Ashey on the outskirts of Ryde this evening (Saturday).
The road between Ashey and The Downs is reported to be impassable.
UPDATE @ 20:04 – It has been confirmed that no one has been seriously injured in the incident, which has involved two vehicles.
At least one casualty has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
The road remains closed by Police in both directions.
UPDATE @ 21:20 – The road has now reopened in both directions following recovery of the vehicles involved.
