The Isle of Wight Council has closed a section of the coastal path between Isle of Wight Pearl and Brighstone Holiday Centre.
The local authority says that the closure of the permissive public access path is for public safety and ‘site security’.
Walkers are being diverted along the grass verge on Military Road and are being reminded to keep to the signposted diversion.
Council officials say they are working to resolve the issue as soon as they can.
Further updates will be provided as and when more is known.

The footpath through Bouldnor is a case in point. You have to circumnavigate around Port La Salle and walk along the road to pick the footpath up. The Rights of Way people said the owners of one or two properties would need to give up a little of their land for the path to continue the coastal footpath because the original one is now under the sea.
