Emergency services spent almost 4 hours negotiating with an individual at Culver Down overnight, with a successful outcome.
It was at around 21:15 last night (Wednesday) that Police, HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to the East Wight amid concerns for the welfare of a male.
Police blocked public access to the beauty spot as blue light colleagues worked to bring the individual to safety.
Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams were mobilised, and both Bembridge RNLI’s Inshore and All Weather lifeboats were launched.
The incident was stood down at around 01:00 with the male taken for the appropriate help by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
