The generosity and determination of Islander Christina Toms has resulted in over £400 being raised for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.
On Wednesday night, Christina handed over a further donation of £270 to the crew
Christina raised £115 from raffling a set of Wonderfest Tickets – that in itself being a great achievement and one for which the crew of Freshwater Lifeboat were incredibly thankful.
However, during a training session on Wednesday night, Christina handed over a further donation of £270. The money had been raised during her participation in the New Forrest half marathon, which she completed in a time of 2hrs, 31min and 31sec.
Christina has raised a total of £415 for the independent lifeboat.
Martin Newhan from Freshwater Independent Lifeboat has said:
“As an Independent Lifeboat, every last penny is invested back into the services to ensure we are able to continue saving lives at sea”.
