An adult model who avoided a lengthy prison sentence, despite stabbing a woman in the head with a chisel 4 times back in 2021, has been sent to prison for 9 months after admitting to breaching her community order several times. Megan Durham, previously of Osborne Road in Shanklin, left her 41-year-old victim with serious injuries to her head and leg during the assault at an address on Atherley Road on 22nd November 2021. The woman sustained 3 stab injuries to her scalp and 1 to her forehead, as well as a bite on the thigh. The AdmireMe model admitted a charge of grievous bodily harm without intent during a hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court in April 2022. That July, Durham was handed a 3-month deferred sentence allowing her time to prove herself and improve her behaviour. In February 2023 – and after she stayed out of trouble throughout the deferred sentencing period – His Honour Judge Stephen Climie handed the defendant a 2-year community order and made her subject to a 5-year restraining order. However, just over 15 months into her 2-year community order, in May 2024, Durham was listed to appear before a judge at Portsmouth Crown Court over several breaches of the order. However, on that occasion she failed to attend. A bench warrant was issued and she then appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday (3rd June), where a judge sentenced her to 9 months in custody.
