Children’s charity Barnardo’s is appealing for volunteers to help support children and young people on the Isle of Wight.

Volunteers are needed to help run the play and stay sessions across the Island. The sessions are free and used by families with children aged 0-4.

The role of a volunteer includes helping to set up and clear away the sessions, chatting to families and also, on occasion, getting messy!

Barnardo’s Volunteer Coordinator Deborah Cobb said:

“Working with children, young people and families on the island is a privilege and I would urge anyone considering volunteering to get in touch and find out more. It is a great opportunity to become part of a team where you get to meet new people on a regular basis as well as acquiring new skills and providing valuable support to families across the island.

“We are particularly looking for support during term time so if you have three hours to spare a week then this could be the opportunity for you!”

Training and induction will be given to all volunteers before starting their roles.
