An 11-year-old African Grey parrot called Ruby has been safely reunited with it’s owners after being cherry picked out of a tree on a busy Newport roundabout this morning (Thursday).
Ruby went missing from her home near Hunnyhill on Tuesday, prompting a £100 reward to be offered for her safe return.
Amazingly, the family pet was spotted watching the traffic go by on the Forest Road exit of St Mary’s Roundabout earlier today resulting in a rescue operation being launched.
Thanks to the efforts of Nigel Earley Services, Ruby was successfully captured using a mobile cherry picker and is now back at home and under the watchful eye of the relieved family.
