Carers IW is celebrating after being awarded £10,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.
This new National Lottery funding will offer dementia carers an opportunity to attend reminiscence interactive therapy activities sessions using a preloaded, all-in-one touch screen that offers reminiscence therapy.
National Lottery players raise over £30million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can offer carers caring for people with dementia to borrow a preloaded easy to use tablet that does not require the Internet to offer reminiscence therapy, this will make a big difference to people’s lives.
“Carers caring for those with dementia have had a really tough time and this should help both individual carers and our Dementia Forum group that meets every 1st Tuesday at 10:00 at the Carers Centre. We also offer free Dementia Training for unpaid carers throughout the year, if you would like to attend, please contact us.”
