UPDATED: Firefighters from Ryde and Shanklin are attending a road traffic collision in Lake this evening (Monday), with at least one person extricated from a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene outside Tesco Express, Lake at just gone 19:00. Two fire appliances, Police and two ambulance crews have all attended the scene.
At least one person has been extricated from their vehicle – believed to be a Toyota Corolla – by fire crews and is now in the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
It is currently unclear as to how the incident occurred.
UPDATE @ 21:35 – One female has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital this evening. There have been no serious injuries.
The road has now fully reopened and emergency crews have left the scene.
UPDATE @ 23:00 – Island Echo understands the woman, a mother, suffered from a back complaint however has since been discharged from hospital
