UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision between a car and motorcycle in East Cowes this morning (Friday).
The incident has occurred on the A3021 Whippingham Road near Osborne House at the junction with Crossways Road. Police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 08:45.
The road has been closed in an inbound direction, with traffic being diverted via Saunders Way and Beatrice Avenue. Traffic exiting East Cowes is under Police direction.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the incident, which has involved a red Toyota Yaris and a Honda motorcycle.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with nearby road closures and temporary traffic lights adding to the congestion in the area.
UPDATE @ 10:30 – A male motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance after sustaining leg injuries in this morning’s collision.
The road has now been reopened in both directions.
