Lugley Street in Newport has been closed from its junction with St James Street to its junction for a distance of 71 metres.
This is to enable Southern Water to repair 3m of the pipe due that is leaking.
The diversion will affect these streets: St James Street, Vicarage Walk, Foxes Road, Old Westminster Lane, Hearn Street, Caesars Road, Drill Hall Road, Mill Street
Diversion route(s) will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.
The Isle of Wight Council will temporarily revoke the one-way restriction in Lugley Street, Newport from its junction with Lugley Street Car Park to its junction with Mill Street.
The revocation is necessary to allow access to residences and businesses whilst the Southern Water Emergency Works are carried out.
From 12:00 hours on 17th August 2020, for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.
