Southern Vectis has announced its timetable for bus services during the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
The local operator will operate normal services on Saturday 6th May, and Sunday services on both Sunday 7th and Monday 8th May.
Southern Vectis head of communications, Nikki Honer, says:
“We know many people living on the Isle of Wight are planning to spend time with others here – with communities coming together to celebrate this historic event.
“There are street parties and other events planned across the Island over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend, with many hospitality businesses also getting involved in the festivities.
“Whatever people’s plans, it’s the perfect time to leave their cars at home and let us transport them to their events. With so many expected to be out-and-about, travelling by bus means not worrying about where to park, and it’s also an opportunity to enjoy a celebratory tipple.
“Our customers can still travel on any single journey on our buses for £2 or less, as part of the government’s fare cap scheme, which has been extended until the end of June. They can also use any payment method – including tap on, tap off contactless, the app, and cash.
“The best way for people to plan their bus journeys during this very special Bank Holiday weekend is via our app. It offers great features – including being able to track buses in live times.

The only good thing about the Coronation is the extra Bank holiday,
after that, scrap the Monarchy and build the 40 Hospitals Johnson
promised the country.
Bank holidays come out of your holiday allotment. So one less day you get too choose when to take of. If you did not know that you should read your job contract, if you have one.

The royal family jumped the shark with the Queen, all down hill from here. Maybe if he had been elected in a fair and open election I would be up for a party. But having this disfunction family forced onto us, I’ll pass.
Same with a few PM’s too, Gordon Brown? unelected, Rishi Sunak? unelected, Theresa May? Boris Johnson both unelected, yet I hear nothing from you, Charles succeeds to the throne & you wet the bed!!
Waste of money all this rubbish. Abolish the lot of them. Sell off the properties or turn them into hotels for the gullible to stay in and to see our glorius heritage of slavery, hunting and theft. How about a “true” history lesson on this so called “royal” family.
