A small kitchen fire involving burnt foodstuffs has led to another call out for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service tonight (Friday).
2 appliances and a duty officer are currently on scene at Nelson Road in Newport, where a small kitchen fire had been reported.
Firefighters from Sandown – standing by at Newport – were first to arrive at the semi-detached property at around 22:40, finding the fire was out on arrival.
A second appliance from Newport was deployed straight from an earlier incident in Cowes, where a garden fire engulfed a shed.
Positive pressure ventilation is now being used at Nelson Road to rid lingering smoke from the family home.
Crews are expected to stand down shortly.
