A broken down articulated lorry is causing travel delays between Newport and Ryde this afternoon (Wednesday).
The vehicle has broken down on the mini roundabout at the top of Binstead Hill – the main road between the Island’s largest towns.
It’s thought that a hose line has been severed, resulting in the air brakes automatically locking on.
Police are in attendance and are assisting with directing traffic.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area for the time being.
UPDATE – The lorry has been successfully repaired and has now moved off, allowing traffic to resume to normal levels.
