The Island’s MP, Bob Seely, has shown his support for local charity Independent Arts by attending a ‘DanceMakers’ session on Friday (19th January).
DanceMakers is a gentle, creative dance programme that offers older people the chance to participate in 6 different groups across the Island. DanceMakers can help to improve balance, coordination, muscle strength, memory and confidence.
Mr Seely watched the group perform their piece on ‘New Year, New Beginnings’ and then stopped to chat to the group about the project. Participants spoke to him about the vulnerability of grant-funded projects and the positive impact that being part of DanceMakers has had made on their lives.
